Medicare Rebate $96.65
Out-of-pocket expense $133.35
If you are struggling with a mental health concern such as depression or anxiety and many other conditions you may be entitled to a mental health care plan.
If you have a mental health plan from your GP (arranged prior to the session) you will be entitled to 10 sessions per year.
The price is $230 for a 50 minute session with a Medicare rebate of $96.65 - that means your out of pocket expense is $133.35 per session.
The standard fee at Lisa Joseph Psychology ($230) is substantially less than the recommended fee of $311.
Please note the recommended fee of $311 will be charged for report writing, and MHCP sessions where the client has reached the Medicare Safety Net (in which case Medicare will cover 80% of the gap, leaving an out-of-pocket expense of less than $50 for most clients).
